ABOUT US

Founders Scott Jay and Brian C. Weed met while performing “Julius Caesar” at Glendale’s A Noise Within Classical Theatre Company and quickly realized a need for quality contemporary theatre in Los Angeles. Danielle Taddei was brought on board, and soon after Because It's There was born - a theatre that would entertain, inform and educate, as well as inspire thought and spark debate.

Early on, it was decided Because It’s There would be called a Theatre Collaboration rather than a Company. This simple innovation created a unique foundation that is inherent in every production Because It’s There undertakes: All artists involved have an equal voice in how a piece is to be presented. We foster an environment where everyone is encouraged and expected to share ideas and opinions on all aspects of a play, not just in their particular roles.
